Will birds eat different colored/flavored bird seeds?
Materials
Strawberries
Blueberries
Bird seeds
Bird feeders
Hypothesis
I think that the birds will like the plain better, because I did some research and most people said that when they tried to give birds strawberries or blueberries they didn't like them. Though it's still possible that they might like the flavored bird seeds.
Procedure
I'm going to make strawberry and blueberry flavored food dye, and put the strawberry one in one bird feeder and the blueberry one in the other. There will also be one with just plain bird seeds.
Results So Far
No birds that I know of came because before I could measure it, it rained and I had to start over. Then I had squirrel attacks which knocked over my bird feeders, so I had to put it back together then get it all set up again. The squirrel attack happened Sunday evening so I didn't have time to get anything else done with my project, though I'm going to keep trying and hope it goes well.
I couldn't really graph it since it kept getting knocked over so there were no accurate results. The strawberry bird feeder got attacked 3 times and nothing happened to the other ones. So whatever that was attacking it liked the strawberry one. I thought that maybe no birds came since my cats go outside a lot and the birds didn't wanna risk getting caught by them.
